Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Storm? What storm? A beautiful sunrise Saturday was followed by news that the threat of a significant snowstorm for Rochester and other parts of SE Minnesota has been greatly diminished.

Here's how it looked before the storm moved in Saturday morning.

Here's what it looked like a few hours later!

Snow is still in the forecast for Saturday. But unlike the threat of 3 - 8 inches, the National Weather Service now predicts rain and 1 - 3 inches of snow by Saturday evening. That would still be enough to set an all-time seasonal snow record in Rochester. After the storm moves out, cooler air will move in for several days with below normal temps expected all of next week.

The NWS is forecasting heavy snow Saturday for parts of NE Iowa and SW Wisconsin with totals of 4-8 inches south of Interstate 90.

News update: The boy who was nearly killed at the MOA could be home within a month or two.
