The Kansas State Patrol reports on their website that a car semi accident claimed the life of a former Blooming Prairie resident on Wednesday. Hannah Lager age 24 of Atchison, Kansas was traveling southbound on a highway outside of Valley Falls when she passed a vehicle and then in attempting to merge back into the right lane, lost control and spun into the northbound lane colliding with a semi. The accident not only claimed the life of Lager but also her unborn child who was due in June. The driver of the semi was taken to a hospital with possible injuries. The accident occurred around 7:30AM on Wednesday. Valley Falls is north of Topeka.

Lager was employed as a Spanish teacher in Valley Falls. Hannah was married in Blooming Prairie in June of 2018.
