Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day in Minnesota.  Two Northfield school bus drivers stopped by Professional Pride Realty in Northfield to discuss their occupation.

Benjamin Bus Company in Northfield contracts with the school district to do their busing and veteran drivers Barb Moore and Carmen Sevcik were guests on the Professional Pride Northfield Community Show.

Moore has driven school bus for 33 years.  Sevcik 22 years.  They said their length of service is a testament to their joy for the work.

Moore pointed out the buses have changed a lot over the years.  When she started her bus was a stick shift.  They are all automatic now.

Sevcik says cameras were installed over the last few years which has cut down on any discipline issues.

Benjamin Bus had treats at their garage today for morning shift and afternoon shift drivers.  The two school bus drivers said a couple of the schools they delivered kids to this morning also had gifts.

They believe this is the fourth year of the statewide School Bus Driver Appreciation Day in Minnesota.
