The Rice County Sheriff's Office confirmed today the death of a 79 year old Erin Township man in a ATV rollover Saturday evening.

The family of Marvin David contacted KDHL/POWER 96 wondering why there had been no media reports about the accident.

We contacted Sheriff Jesse Thomas who stated the release was sent out via email.

The County has a new email system which evidently did not send Media Releases to media outlets even though they thought they were sent.

Sheriff Thomas immediately responded by sending the News Release which stated the initial call came in 5:53 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 of a possible deceased person trapped under a ATV at 11876 140th St. West, Montgomery, Mn.

The News Release says, "Rice County deputies, Lonsdale Fire and Rescue and Montgomery Ambulance were dispatched."

It goes on to report, "The ATV/victim was located by the landowners friend on the property.  When responding units arrived the male was confirmed deceased."

"The occupant of the ATV was identified as Marvin George David.  Contributing factors of the crash are still under investigation."

Schoenbauer Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements with visitation scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2022 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Montgomery.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, all at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.
