Another terrific feature at the Rice County Fair is the "Ask a Master Gardener" University of Minnesota Extension tent outside the Conservation Building.

While walking around the fargrounds in Faribault I stopped by there to see what was happening.

I asked them what question has been asked the most and they said, completely in unison, "Japanese Beetles."

They have some plants to give away including red pepper plants.

Not far to the west is the Rice County Sheriff's Office and Faribault Police Department Mobile Incident Command Center.  Notice it's parked next to a fire hydrant.  I had to text Faribault Fire Chief Dustin Dienst about it.
