Another week, another big game for Owatonna junior running back Jason Williamson. He set a single-game OHS rushing record with 343 yards in Friday's 46-7 win over Rochester Century. That breaks the mark set by Sam Hylle against Austin in 2015. Two weeks ago Williamson tied Hylle's record with seven touchdowns in a game. Last week he plowed his way to 280 rushing yards.

Friday's total also boosted Williamson past current assistant coach Matt Skala up to number four on the all-time rushing list at Owatonna. Collin Wencl is next at third, followed by Cory Urban and career record holder Aaron Peterson.

Williamson's night didn't start out big, however. His first five rushes each went for two yards. His next three carries covered five, ten and zero yards. His next trio of attempts went for touchdowns of 35, 80 and 72 yards. He later added an 86-yard sprint for a score.

Owatonna made some adjustments to the offensive line that saw Terrell Conner and Kadyn Mulert occupy the field at the same time for the first time this season. A full day of rain left the field in rough shape, though Williamson seemed to navigate it just fine. The rain stopped before the game began.

The Huskies led 20-0 at the half. Century took the opening kickoff of the second half and marched down the field in three plays to pull within 20-7. Owatonna's defense turned up the pressure after that with six sacks on their next three possessions. Mitch Wiese, Cole Rocha and Joseph Stansky appeared to be involved in multiple sacks.

Wiese and Zander Johnson each had a one-yard touchdown plunge. Abe Havelka connected with Noah Budach for a 46-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.

Owatonna out gained the Panthers approximately 655-280 yards. The Huskies (6-0) will likely be No. 1 ranked in Class 5A when the new poll comes out midweek as defending state champ Elk River lost Friday night 24-20 to Rogers. OHS plays at Northfield (6-0) Friday October 13 on KRFO AM 1390.

Friday was Sack Cancer night with fans being invited to make donations to benefit the From the Heart Run and the Steele County Relay for Life.
