Collin Pederson's hockey career has taken him near and far. The 2020 Owatonna High School graduate played a year with the Rochester Grizzlies, finishing as the national runner-up in the NA3 junior hockey league. This past winter Pederson played for the expansion Anchorage (AK) Wolverines and made another appearance in the national championship game recently in Blaine (MN).

Pederson has committed to play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin of Superior, a virtual stone's throw from his hometown compared to playing in Alaska.

"It feels great to commit!" Pederson says in a news release from the Wolverines. "Committing is a big milestone in my hockey journey and is a testament to all the work I've put in. My experience with the Wolverines has been nothing short of amazing, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to play junior hockey."

Pederson shared his feelings about transitioning to a top-level of junior hockey during a chat with KRFO radio in December 2021, "I'm so grateful that it has and I'm having a great time. It's crazy how much the speed goes up and just the level of play. It's amazing. It's a grind but I'm having so much fun with it."

He was voted an assistant captain for Anchorage in its inaugural season in the North American Hockey League. Pederson had 15 points during the regular season on seven goals and eight assists. He had three assists during the playoffs, including one on the game-winning, overtime goal in the Wolverines' Championship Series opener. Anchorage finished as the national runner-up.

Anchorage Director of Hockey Operations Keith Morris said, "Collin was an integral part of our first season. He brought excellent leadership and commitment every day. He is a big strong player who can play many roles on a team. UW-Superior is getting a future captain."
