Owatonna Girls Tennis Reaches Section Final Four

Owatonna's girls tennis team defeated Northfield 4-3 Thursday afternoon to advance to the Section 1AA final four. The Huskies boys soccer topped Mankato West 3-1.

The No. 3 seed Huskies win over the Raiders sets up a rematch with No. 2 seed Lakeville North at 9AM Tuesday at the Rochester Athletic Club. The Panthers beat Owatonna 4-3 early this season. Top seed Rochester Mayo and fifth seed Lakeville South meet in the other semifinal. The winners will play at 12:30PM Tuesday for the section title.

Owatonna boys soccer closed their regular season with a 3-1 victory over Mankato East. Abukar Fakrudin scored a hat trick for the Huskies, who moved above the .500 mark for the first time this season. It was Owatonna's third straight win to end the season at 8-7-1.

The girls game in Mankato was canceled. Soccer playoffs begin next week.

Owatonna volleyball defeated Faribault 3-2. Huskies b-squad football beat Rochester Mayo 34-9 to improve to 6-0. At the Ev Berg cross country invitational at Brooktree Golf Course, the OHS boys finished fifth and the girls took seventh place.
