Briefly the history of the Fraternal Order of Eagles got their start in 1898 in Seattle. A group of 6 theater owners buried the hatchet over some issue and decided to band together to promote good causes. Being theater owners a number of musical acts and entertainers would perform and then move onto their next venue. It's stated that these performers help spread the work of what had started in Seattle.

The Owatonna Eagles began ten years after the founding of the order. Saturday, June 9 the Owatonna Eagles will celebrate their 110th anniversary. Activities will start in the lot around 11AM. GB Leighton will perform on the outdoor stage from 7-10PM with a $10 cover charge. The public is invited to learn more about the Eagles and becoming an Eagle on Saturday. At 10PM the festivities will continue indoors.

The Owatonna Chapter has long been a supporter of charitable causes, be it for individuals in time of need to the yearly cancer auction to which they have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Come on out to the Eagles Club on June 9 and learn more.
