Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An Olmsted County deputy was injured during a courtroom scuffle Monday.
The Sheriff’s office says the deputy was called to a courtroom at the request of a judge to take a man into custody.
The man - 41-year-old Anthony Carman of St Paul - appeared for a hearing and the judge ordered a drug test. When told he had failed, the judge decided to put Carman in jail.
He began fighting with the deputies and pushed one of them hard into a wall. The deputy then fell to the floor. Carman was eventually subdued and taken to jail.
He is expected to be charged with assaulting the 52-year-old deputy, who suffered a bump on his forehead.
