New Family Entertainment Venue in Cedar Rapids Gives Sneak Peek

We told you back in August of this year that a new family entertainment venue is coming to the area. Well, now we have a sneak peek!

Spare Time Entertainment is the new family entertainment center that will take the place of the old Gordman's in northeast Cedar Rapids. If you're looking for something fun to do with the family, on a date night, or with a private group, this place has a ton of activities to offer. According to their website, it features luxury bowling lanes, a laser tag arena, escape rooms, and multiple restaurants and bars throughout the venue. What's also nice is that there are cozy private rentals, or you can rent out the full facility. It's perfect for any size outing, and it's coming along nicely.

Just this week, Spare Time posted a sneak peek on their Facebook page showing off the new bowling lanes. These lanes are complete with a lounge, and video walls that play sports and music videos while you bowl. Awesome!

Other sneak peeks include the laser tag area and arcade gaming zone.

It appears from the post that we can expect more of these sneak peeks this week. Things seem to be making progress, but there's still no exact opening date. A comment from the venue on the post though indicates that they are shooting to open sometime in the first couple months of 2022. Yay!

It's exciting to see venues like this popping up around Cedar Rapids offering more things to do. Earlier this month, we told you about another entertainment venue. It's a family adventure center called Dragon's Lair Family Adventure Center in southwest Cedar Rapids that offers laser tag, archery tag, escape rooms, and smash rooms.
