Did you know that Minnesota has the fifth-largest road network in the country? We have more than 12,000 miles of state highway. This morning MnDOT released its 10-Year Capital Highway Investment Plan. The 2019-2028 report includes over 760 pavement projects and around 380 bridge projects throughout the state.

The projects listed for the years 2019-2022 are committed projects. Those listed in 2021-2018 are in the plans but not confirmed.

Here's a look at a few of the projects planned for and hoped for in the next ten years:

Paving Highway 30 from 83 to New Richland and bridge replacement in 2020.

Replacing the bridges on 218 which cross over I-90 outside Austin in 2021.

Repaving 251 down by Clarks Grove from i-35 to 218 in 2023.

Paving 218 from Highway 30 to 14 in 2023.

Repaving 13 from Waseca to Waterville in 2016.

And repaving 30 from 218 to 56 near Hayfield.
