Minnesota Winery Becomes a Beautiful, Family-Friendly Ice Palace Each Winter
Good thing I discovered this before they closed for the season because this looks really cool! There's a winery in Minnesota that transforms into a beautiful ice palace every winter. Plus, it's family-friendly, not just for adults, so you can bring your kids for some fun too.
The winery is called Fountain Hill Winery and it's in Delano, MN, which is west of the Twin Cities. Their Ice Palace looks super fun for all ages and it's open through March 4th, so there's still some time to check them out.
What to See and Do at the Ice Palace
Not only is there the amazing ice palace to see, but they also have fire shows and visits from some special "winter characters" that your kids would love to meet.
If you're interested in the fire shows, those are Thursdays at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 PM, Fridays at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 PM, Saturdays from 5 - 8:30 PM every 30 minutes, and Sundays at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 PM.
As for the "winter characters" who appear to be Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, they're around on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays along with their buddy the yeti. On Thursdays, just Elsa and Olaf will be there.
There's also a place to sled (sleds are available there) plus pizzas for sale, other food options, and, of course, wine, since it is at a winery. And beer too if you'd prefer.
Tickets to the Ice Palace
Tickets are $18 per adult on weekdays (except Fridays) and $23 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. For kids, it's $11 per child on weekdays (except Fridays) and $15 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Kids 4 and under a free. The tickets are good for all-day admission so you can spend as long as you'd like there.
When You Can Visit the Ice Palace
If you'd like the plan a visit, the Ice Palace at Fountain Hill Winery is open Thursdays through Sundays, Valentine's Day, and President's Day. Their hours are:
Thursdays 5 - 9 PM
Fridays 5 - 10 PM
Saturdays 2 - 10 PM
and Sundays 4 - 9 PM
For Valentine's Day and President's Day, they're open 5 - 9 PM.
