This may come as a shock to you, but transporting a snowmobile requires some care and attention. You can't just strap it to the top of your car.

Sounds like common knowledge, no? Well, apparently, not to this Wisconsin driver.

The things you see in Wisconsin...

As you can read in the caption above, a trooper in Polk County had to remind this motorist of the correct way to haul big mobile objects.

There are multiple things wrong with this image. First of all, when hauling objects, they must not extend past the fender line AT ALL on the left side. Second of all, the object can't reach more than 6 inches beyond the fender line on the right side of the vehicle.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reached out to the Minnesota State Patrol Facebook page, asking if this was legal in the North Star State.

The Minnesota State Patrol Facebook responded saying:

"Hey, Wisconsin State Patrol: We might not agree on everything (Skol Vikings!) but we agree this is a really bad idea — and it’s also illegal in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Secure your load properly. It’s the law!"

If you're planning on bringing the snowmobile up north this winter, just know, a trailer or a bed of a pickup work great when moving large loads.

Speaking of winter, what are you looking forward to this year? Are you ready for the holiday season? I bet winning $5,000 would prep you for all the festivities.
