The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports this morning that I-35 traffic is once against traveling in northbound and southbound lanes as construction crews on the bridge replacement project are preparing to open all highway lanes on the Interstate in November. And November is just days away.

Traffic was switched back Thursday night so cars are traveling in both north and southbound lanes. Traffic does remain single lanes for just a while longer as median work is still needed and the crossover lanes need to be taken out.

The northbound Straight River Rest Area exit is now open but only for parking. The facility itself will not reopen until the first few days of November. The southbound Straight river Rest Area remains open.

Motorists are advised to expect delays on I-35 for a few more weekends.

Construction season ending? Must mean winter is about to begin? After all it is Minnesota.
