Hy-Vee just announced major changes to their hours. The grocery chain will no longer be open 24 hours a day. If you've ever gone grocery shopping late at night, this news shouldn't surprise you, the stores are almost always empty.

The Star Tribune published a statement from Hy-Vee spokeswoman Christina Gayman that explained the change, “We have changed our hours to reallocate several team members to be available to assist customers during busier shopping times each day.” The Iowa based company will still have staff stocking the stores overnight and does not plan to cut jobs. As of now, it appears their new hours will be 5:00 AM to Midnight starting Monday.

Hy-Vee has close to 250 supermarkets located all across the midwest with 4 stores in Rochester.
