Hike 592 Steps On Minnesota’s Mount Charity And See A View Like No Other

A little-known state park in Minnesota is home to one of the best bird's eye views in the entire state.

The Riverview Trail at John A. Latsch State Park is not for the faint-hearted, but if you can tackle the challenging terrain you simply won't regret it.

This steep hike has a total of 592 steps (yes, your legs will be burning by step 50), but the views at the top are so clear that one can see into Wisconsin.

The beautiful 1,600-acre park is located 10 miles north of Winona, right on the Mississippi River. The memorable destination is a perfect day trip for every season. (In other words, don't let the winter chill scare you.)

Grandiose bluffs surround every corner, and in the middle of the park is Mount Charity (home to this worthy Riverview hike). As you travel up the tiny mountain, you'll find yourself in a thick, lush forest full of birds and other wildlife.

Most people hike the 1/2 mile trail in an hour but don't feel like you need to rush. There are numerous benches along the way for those who want to take in the sights (or just catch their breath).

Once you reach the top, pat yourself on the back, and enjoy the spectacular views of treetops, the Mississippi River, and Wisconsin.

This hike is priceless. Not only will you get in touch with nature, but you'll also get some intense physical exercise (which, as much as we hate to admit, we all need sometimes, right?)
