The first Downtown Thursday of the Summer was yesterday evening. The 100 and 200 blocks of North Cedar are blocked off, and the public is invited to come down for food, music, art, and shopping. In addition to yesterday being the last day of school for Owatonna District students, and, it being such a beautiful evening, weather-wise, the musical headliner was HarMar Superstar, a native to our fine city.

HarMar Superstar took to the stage wearing a hot sauce costume, which he quickly took off, as it was quite warm with the sun beating down on the stage. He had an outfit on underneath that my daughter wants; Chicken flavored Ramen Noodles and I found it on Amazon, Santa might have to order it. He must have been really hot in that as well.

The Music Space in downtown Owatonna is a great use of open space, there is ample room for people to bring chairs and enjoy the space. Last night it was put to good use for the concert. HarMar Superstar put on a good show with his band, they had beach balls out amongst the crowd, and even the littlest of the kiddos were having fun dancing. There was also a shout-out to his parents, who were in attendance. Both of the Tillmans worked as teachers in the Owatonna district, and Mr. Tillman also taught at Riverland Community College, where I got to have him as a speech teacher.

It was a great night, people were enjoying themselves, enjoying the music, and even enjoying the HarMar adult beverages that were on sale. I did not try it, but, heard it was good. Yes, his picture is on the can.

We had a great time, and are looking forward to the next Downtown Thursday, scheduled for July 11th. I took a few pictures of the goings-on.
