The Faribault American Legion Post 43 baseball team suffered a 4-1 defeat to Owatonna at Bell Field tonight.  Owatonna collected 8 hits and Faribault 7 hits and each team had 1 error in the game.  No player had multiple hits for Owatonna, they did steal four bases in the game.

Owatonna took a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Isaac Gefre in the top of the third inning.  Faribault tied the game in the bottom of the 4th inning on a RBI double by Kip Bonde plating Kyle Kohl who walked to start the inning and was sacrificed to second base on a bunt by Zach Van Thomme.

Owatonna broke the tie in the fifth with two runs and added another run in the sixth inning. In the fifth inning, Solomon Havelka coaxed a one out walk.  Willie Von Ruden hit into a fielder's choice trading places with Havelka at first base.  Ethan Walter then singled advancing Von Ruden to third base.  Gefre hit a 2 RBI single to give Post 77 the 3-1 lead.

In the sixth inning, Matt Seykora started with a double to greet new Faribault pitcher Josh Oathoudt.  Following a pop out Matt Williams walked.  During the Williams at bat Seykora stole third base and eventually scored on a passed ball.

Faribault had their chances.  In the bottom of the 6th inning Van Thomme stroked a one out double and advanced to third on a wild pitch.  Following a ground out Bonde was hit by a pitch before a ground out ended the inning.

No pitching stats were provided for Owatonna.  VanThomme took the loss after throwing the first five innings.

With the loss Faribault is 2-8.  No record given for Owatonna.
