Owatonna takes a ten-game winning streak into Thursday's Section 1AA semifinal match with Farmington at the Lincoln Soccer Complex in Owatonna. Seven of those wins have come by shutout. OHS only gave up one goal in each of the other games. The Huskies opened the playoffs with a 6-1 victory over New Prague Tuesday.

In 17 games this season, the Huskies (14-3) have ten shutouts and have surrendered 12 total goals. By going 6-0 against section opponents, Owatonna is the top seed for the first time since 2010. OHS finished second in the section in 2004 and 2005, but has never gone to state.

The next step toward history is a rematch with Farmington (3-12-2) Thursday at 7PM with coverage on KRFO AM1390. OHS beat the Tigers 2-0 August 24 and only allowed two shots on goal, and coach Matt Roddy says neither was a quality chance. Farmington has been shutout 11 times this season, but beat Rochester John Marshall Tuesday 2-0 to reach the semifinals.

Lakeville North and Lakeville South will meet in the other semifinal. The final is at the high seed Tuesday October 17. That will be in Owatonna, if the Huskies beat Farmington. OHS has lost to Lakeville North in the semifinals four straight years. North has won six straight 1AA titles.
