Comedy Club Finds New Home in Rochester
Fans of standup comedy will be excited to hear that Goonie’s Comedy Club is planning to reopen soon in Rochester. The original club closed in 2016, after a decade in downtown Rochester because the building they were operating in was sold.
The club wasn’t dark for long as they were able to relocate and reopen inside The Crooked Pint in northwest Rochester in 2017, but then COVID-19 derailed everything. The Crooked Pint closed when the pandemic hit southeast Minnesota leaving Goonies without a home. Hopefully, the third time is a charm.

Goonies adapted its operation during the first year of the pandemic by hosting virtual shows on its Facebook page. Then in 2021, they partnered with the Workshop Food Hall to host open-mic nights. Now, a permanent location has been secured.

I reached out to find out where the latest version of Goonies will be opening up and was told the new location will be inside the Wyndham Ramada on South Broadway. That's the same hotel that The Crooked Pint reopened in.
The space is currently being remodeled and there’s apparently a lot of work to do so no opening date has been set yet.
You can follow Goonie’s on Facebook for more updates.
