Byron Girl Recovering After Vehicle Rolls Over Her Leg

Byron, MN (KROC-AM News) - A scare for a Byron family.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office was contacted around 5:30 PM Sunday about a young girl who had been run over by a car in the driveway of her home in the 700 block of 3rd Ave NE.

Capt. Scott Behrns says 3-year-old Harper Hewlett was standing near a vehicle that was in the driveway when the brakes failed and it began rolling. Behrns says the car ended up rolling over one of her legs.

Her father Keith Hewlett was nearby and ran to the car and was able to stop it from rolling.

His daughter suffered an injury to one of her knees and an elbow and had a bloody lip. She was taken by ambulance to St. Marys Hospital to be checked out.
