Bill Pullman Joins Dick Cheney Movie ‘Backseat,’ as a Vice President This Time
Adam McKay’s Dick Cheney biopic, now titled Backseat, will see Hollywood chameleon Christian Bale transform himself into the controversial 46th vice president. McKay is in the process of assembling quite a cast, and today he’s added Independence Day president himself, Bill Pullman, to play a different seat in the White House.
Deadline reports that Pullman will be playing Nelson Rockefeller, the 41st VP under Gerald Ford from 1974 to 1977. While he was vice president he sparred often with his number one frenemy, Dick Cheney. Rockefeller was a member of THAT family, and a noted art collector and administrator of Rockefeller Center. He was governor of New York for 14 years and often ran for president, but, obviously, never got on the ballot.
