Big Nine Conference Boys Basketball Leader in State Rankings

The Mankato East Cougars boys basketball team sits atop the Big Nine Conference and is ranked #2 in the latest Minnesota Basketball News State Class 3A rankings.  The Austin Packers are #6 in Class 3A and Rochester Century Panthers #19 in Class 4A.

Caledonia takes over the #1 spot in Class 2A after defeating previous #1 Waseca during a showcase event in Rochester January 4.   Lake City is #3. Two other Hiawtha Valley League teams are in the Class 2A Top 20, Stewartville #10 and Goodhue #15.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is still ranked #5 in Class 1A with their only loss to then number one rated Henning in double overtime at the Granite City Classic event in St. Cloud over the holiday vacation.  BOLD then defeated Henning to take the top spot in Class 1A.  Henning is #2.

The highest ranked Section 1A team is Blooming Prairie #12 with Hayfield rated #14.  They are the only Section 1A teams in the rankings.

In Class 4A Eden Prairie is still on top with Park Center, Cretin-Derham Hall, Eastview and Chaska rounding out the top 5.  The South Suburban Conference has 6 teams ranked among the top 18 in the largest schools in the state.

Shakopee #6, Lakeville South #10, Prior Lake #13, Lakeville North #15, Rosemount #18.
