
Woman Crashes into Minnesota State Patrol Vehicle
Clearwater, MN (KROC AM News) - It was a close call for a state trooper who was at the scene of a traffic wreck in central Minnesota.
The State Patrol says trooper Justin Schuelke was dealing with the wreck around 10:30 PM Saturday near Clearwater when a vehicle crashed into the rear of his squad car. The vehicle also struck the car that had earlier crashed into a guardrail.
The driver of the car that struck the two vehicles was driven by 69-year-old Sharon Ann Soyka of St. Cloud. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The first vehicle that crashed was driven by 19-year-old Katelyn Marie Carter of St. Cloud, who was treated at the scene for her injuries.
A teenager who was involved in a traffic wreck in NW Minnesota Thursday has died.
The State Patrol says 18-year-old Heidi Annette Anenson of Thief River Falls failed to stop at a stop sign, lost control on the icy road, slid through the intersection and was hit by a pickup truck. She suffered fatal injuries. The truck was driven by 40-year-old Nathaniel Lee Johnson of Middle River. He and a passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries. The wreck happened around 10:00 PM Thursday in Marshall County.
