A clutch shot in the closing moments by junior Holly Buytaert gave the Owatonna girls basketball squad a 54-52 win over Albert Lea at the OHS gym. That result have the Huskies a sweep of varsity sports for Tuesday, February 16. See the game-winning bucket below, courtesy of OwatonnaLive.com.

The OHS girls host Mankato East Friday, February 19 at 7:30 pm with the game broadcast on AM 1390 KRFO, now simulcasting at 94.7FM as well.

The Huskies boys rolled past Albert Lea Tuesday 85-37. Brayden Williams scored 22. Payton Beyer added 16 and Evan Dushek scored 10. OHS led 44-11 at the half and forced nearly 30 turnovers in the game. Owatonna plays at Mankato East Thursday, February 18 with the game on Kat Kountry 105FM.

OHS gymnastics had their high score of the season Tuesday in Mankato, 143.10 with Lindsay Bangs back in the lineup. She won the all-around (36.425) and the beam (9.15). Owatonna's Janessa Moore took first in vault (9.2). Mankato West scored 138.275. Mankato East had 128.825. The Huskies host Northfield Saturday at 6:30 pm.

Owatonna girls hockey pulled away from Albert Lea with a three-goal third period in a 5-1 win over the Tigers on Dudley Otto Rink at Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna. Ezra Oien had two goals and an assist. Samantha Bogen had a goal and an assist. It was Teacher Appreciation Night.
