Do you know James Otis of Waterville? Or where Otis is now? If so, contact your local law enforcement agency. They're looking for him.

Last night (5/24), a Waseca County homeowner reported a man pounding on the door and asking to borrow tools for a flat tire, according to a press release from the Waseca County Sheriff's Office. After being told the homeowner didn't have such tools, the man left, and the homeowner requested a deputy check on the man.

When the deputy arrived, the man drove off south on Highway 13 despite a flat tire, then turned west onto 430th Avenue. Two people got out and ran, but the deputy caught an adult female. The other person was identified as Otis, and it was indicated that he possesses a weapon and methamphetamine. A deputy found a weapon in the direction he fled. Otis has an active warrant for his arrest from Le Sueur County.

Despite the aid of the Minnesota State Patrol Air Division, a search of the area did not find Otis. Authorities do not believe he presents a safety concern for the public and that he may have left the area.

If you see or have seen Otis, contact your local law enforcement agency.
