The Twin Rivers League Champion Wanamingo Jacks are the top seed in the upcoming Region 5C Minnesota Baseball Association Amateur Tournament.

The Jacks are scheduled to play 10 Saturday morning against Dodge County who advanced to Finals after surviving the Preliminary Bracket this past weekend.

In the Prelims Hastings advanced to become the #5 seed by defeating Stewartville-Racine in Cannon Falls yesterday.

#4 seed Cannon Falls will play Hastings at 1 Saturday afternoon at John Burch Park in Cannon Falls.

#6 seed Stewartville-Racine faces defending Champion Rochester 7 Saturday night.

The #2 seed Red Wing Aces will play against the Austin Greyhounds 4 Saturday afternoon.

This weekend games are in Cannon Falls.  Next weekend is the final weekend and those games are scheduled to be played in Red Wing.

Three teams from Region 5C advance to the State Amateur Baseball Tournament which is being held in Chaska, Waconia and Hamburg this year.

Next year the State Tournament will be hosted by Faribault, Dundas and Miesville.

In Region 6C action #2 seed Waterville rolled to a 17-1 win over Lake Crystal.  The Indians play Arlington 6pm Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Joe Grose Park in Waterville.  Arlington blanked Janesville 8-0 Sunday.

#1 seed Jordan defeated Wells 4-1 while #10 seed LeSueur defeated #8 Morristown 6-3 at Babe Nordmeier Field in Morristown.  Jordan hosts LeSueur Saturday at 6pm.

#3 seed St. Clair downed Belle Plaine 16-2 while Waseca got by Minnesota Lake 6-3.  Waseca is at St. Clair Saturday.

#4 seed Gaylord rolled over Cleveland 10-1 while #12 seed Eagle Lake upset #5 seed Blue Earth 7-5.  Gaylord hosts Eagle Lake Saturday.

In Section 1B Northfield edged Dundas 4-3 in the play-in game at Memorial Field in Dundas Sunday.  The Dukes scored in walk-off fashion.

Veteran Charlie Ruud (Cannon Falls graduate and St. Olaf Ole) went the first 3 innings for Dundas.  He allowed 4 hits, 1 run, walked 2 and struck out 3.  Justin King went the rest of the way to get the win.  6 innings pitched, 5 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, 8 strikeouts.

Jake Mathison started for Northfield going the first 8 innings, 6 hits, 3 runs, 4 strikeouts no walks.  Eli Patrikus pitched in the 9th to take the loss allowing 3 hits, 1 rung with 0 walks and 0 strikeouts.

Kenyon-Wanamingo graduate Drew Sathrum hit a double for Dundas.

The Dukes play at Miesville Friday, August 6, 2021 at 8:00 p.m.

Also Friday at 8 #2 Elko entertains #5 New Market.  #4 Hampton travels to #4 Rochester.

The series continues Sunday and Tuesday if needed.

Then there is a redemption round to determine the final two seeds.  Four seeds advance to the Class B State Minnesota Amateur Baseball Tournament.
