Unsolicited: Southern Minnesota Boy Pays For Hungry Soldier’s Meal
Here is a little bit of good news for you on a Friday morning, a Southern Minnesota boy was caught by his mother on camera buying a solder a meal, unsolicited. How great is that?
Riley Flatness was out with his mom grabbing some lunch when he asked her if they were going to take care of the soldier's meal that was standing in line. Before Riley's mom could say anything, he told her that he would take care of it. While Riley was taking care of the meal, mom, Patricia snapped a photo of the exchange.
"Mom. Can we go back and pay for his food? Wait for me here I'll go do it by myself."

I've known Riley's dad Jordan since my time in Albert Lea, and we still have a house next to Jordan's uncle Arden. Knowing his family as much as I do it's not hard to realize the positive influences that Riley is surrounded by on a regular basis.
It's seeing things like what Riley did that make me smile, knowing that future generations still are being taught to thank those that give of themselves for the greater good. Whether it's a soldier, police officer, firefighter, first responder/EMS, or simply a volunteer these types of interactions are a simple way to show our appreciation to those who give of themselves year-round.
Have a great weekend, and to all the dad's out there a happy Father's Day.
