The Triton Cobras girls basketball team outscored Cannon Falls 20 to 5 at the free throw line in a 64-52 win in the Bombers Hangar tonight.  The Cobras were led by 6'1 freshman Brylee Iverson with 20 points including 6 for 8 at the charity stripe.

Triton led 31-22 at the half and punched the lead to double digits a couple of times before Cannon Falls whittled the deficit to 5 points with 4 minutes to go.  Bombers Head Coach Samantha McCamy said she was very pleased with her team's effort particularly coming off a home loss to Lake City Monday night.

Cobras Senior 5'11 Kendra Petersohn was the only other Triton player in double figures with 16 points, 6 for 6 on free throws.  The Cobras were 20 of 22, Bombers 5 of 10 from the free throw line.

Junior 5'6 Bella Freeburg led Cannon Falls with 18 points.  Junior 5'8 Mikayla Bowen added 15 points.  Sophomore 5'6 Jaci Winchell had 12 points for the Bombers.

Both teams suffered from numerous turnovers.  Triton had 19, Cannon Falls 15 in the game.  Each team scored 10 points off turnovers.

Cannon Falls falls to 5-11 overall, 1-8 in Hiawatha Valley League play.  Triton is 9-7, 3-6 in the H-V-L. The Cobras snapped a 3 game losing streak while extending the Bombers losing streak to 5 straight games.

The Cobras host Pine Island Friday while Cannon Falls goes to Zumbrota-Mazeppa Thursday night.
