Longtime Triton High School football coach Don Henderson is among those to be inducted into the Minnesota Football Coaches Hall of Fame on April 2.

Henderson is the only coach Triton has had in its 26 years of existence. He spent three seasons at Hayfield and Dodge Center before that. Overall his record is 236-78. The Cobras have advanced to state nine times with four Prep Bowl appearances. Triton won titles in 1994, 2000 and 2006.

Henderson helped coach the greater Minnesota all star team in 1996 and has had seven players compete in the game.

Other inductees are Bernie Litecky of Totino-Grace, Flint Motschenbacher of Detroit Lakes, Leo Pohlkamp of Pierz and Steve Johnson of Bethel University.

The Minnesota Football Coaches Association banquet is Saturday, April 2, at the Doubletree Hotel in Minneapolis.

Among the honors to be presented is the Distinguished Service Award, which will go to John Gross of Medford, who is an assistant on the Bethlehem Academy staff. Section coaches of the year include Brent Schroeder of Caledonia.
