Travel Back In Time By Taking In Vintage Snowmobiles December 4th
It's hard to believe that we are already two weeks away from Thanksgiving, which means Faribault's Winterfest is coming soon. Once again this year, Central Ave will be transported back in time as vintage snowmobiles will take to the streets on December 4th.
As an owner of a vintage snowmobile, a '75 Scorpion Whip 440, there is nothing I enjoy more than seeing vintage snowmobiles, in all conditions, lined up along a parking lot or street. Much like those people who are into classic cars, vintage sleds are still used by many, and many times each sled as a handful of personal stories or moments that the owners love to share with those who walk on by.
If you are a fan of all things retro and winter, this is the day to head to downtown Faribault as on Saturday, December 4th the Faribo Sno-Go Club’s Vintage Snowmobile Show will take place on Central Ave from 1-4pm. On top of the show, the event page on Facebook states that there will also be food and beverages for sale, and fireworks later on in the evening.
On top of the fireworks and vintage sled show, Saturday will also offer up a parade for those who come out to the event. The parade for Winterfest will be grand marshaled by our good friend Kelley Watts of Community Coop in Downtown Faribault.
The parade will happen at 5:45pm, and afterward, a street dance will be taking place.
So if the sleds don't bring you downtown, fireworks, a parade, or street dance might just be what you need to get out and enjoy one of Minnesota's 4 distinct seasons.
