After two years of waiting, the Steele County Free Fair is BACK, and I couldn't be more excited! However, we may see a spike in coronavirus cases due to the large gathering.

(Dear COVID-19,

Haven't we lost enough already? Just GO AWAY!

Sincerely,

Everyone)

According to data from the Mayo Clinic, Steele County is a new 'hot spot' in Minnesota.

Based on our 7-day average, this county can expect to see 18 new cases a day, but when scaled out to a 'standard population' of 100,000 people, that number sits at 50. That is a high number compared to other counties.

In fact, it's actually the highest number compared to other MN counties.

Waseca County is a close second based on the average cases per 100,000 people.

The average number of cases in Waseca county is 9. In other words, per 100,000 people, we'd see 49 new cases.
