We're entering the busy outdoor season. More folks will be traveling for vacations or weekend outings on the lake. We'll be more active and along with that comes the increased risk of accidents. In some cases, it will result in a need for blood. There are blood drives scheduled for every day in the area next week.

Monday, May 6 there will be a blood drive at District One Hospital in Faribault from 12-6pm. There's also one on Monday at the Blooming Prairie City Center from 1-6pm.

Wednesday and Thursday May 8 and 9 there will be a blood drive at St. Jseph's church in Owatonna from 12-6pm. They will also host a blood drive on Friday the 10th from 9-2pm. The Rice County Sheriff's Office in Faribault will be collecting blood on Thursday, May 9 from 9-3pm.

You can download the free Red Cross App to keep in touch. Now through June 10, those who donate blood will get a free $5 Amazon.com gift card.

Sue Thesenga of the American Red Cross will be a guest on Tuesday, May 7 at 9:40am on AM 1390's Talk of the Town.
