ShaneCo just did a deep dive to "get a better understanding of engagement ring trends over the past five years." They used third-party survey data of popular ring styles and analyzed carat size.

The biggest rocks are found in Hawaii, where the average carat size peaked at 1.2 carats. Vermont was on the bottom of the list with an average carat size of under 0.7 carats among diamond ring purchases. Keep scrolling to see where Minnesota diamonds ranked.

The halo setting, which has one bigger stone surrounded by smaller diamonds, is the most popular style here in Minnesota and pretty much everywhere else in the county. Their data showed the halo was the top "engagement ring fashion for the past five years in 41 states and Washington D.C."

TheKnot says the most popular day of the year for proposals is Christmas day so it's safe to say engagement ring sales start ramping up this time of year.

What are Pavé  Rings? explains, "The word pavé means “pavement” in French. Pavé is an indicator of the ring's setting, typically referring to how the diamonds are set. When looking at a ring with a pavé setting, you'll notice several tiny diamonds closely set together, resulting in a line – or pavement – of continuous sparkle."
