Faribault Police Chief John Sherwin said he is very proud of the restraint shown by his officers during a dangerous situation downtown overnight.

The Sgt. did tell KDHL officers said the man was "uncooperative" during his arrest.

"In 2021, the Faribault Police Department took 21 reports of catalytic converter thefts, and have already taken 11 reports in 2022."

Official filing for candidacy, assuming redistricting is completed will be May 17, 2022 through May 31, 2022 until 5:00 p.m. for all Rice County and City of Northfield, Faribault and Lonsdale elected offices.

Running from the police isn't a great idea, especially when they are able to run you down on foot after giving you a head start.

Chief Bohlen concluded, "We're really proud of our agency and we've got good people. I'm very proud of these young men and thanks to the City Council."

The announcement comes just a couple weeks after Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn announced his retirement to move to Arizona for his wife's job promotion.

One hundred percent of the proceeds raised will be give to the Faribault Police Department for safety equipment and a fund for officers to use for mental health concerns.

The event will kick-off at 7pm with Chief Andy Bohlen highlighting our many community events, a demonstration by K9 Thor, meet our SWAT members, and the opportunity to check out a couple of our vehicles.

At approximately 11:27 am, on December 10th, Flategraff was sentenced and remanded into custody to be transported to the Steele County Detention Center. Flategraff fled the Courthouse before he could be transported.
