Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Wednesday’s storm disrupted the travel plans of truck drivers in southern Minnesota.

While many decided to park their rigs and wait out the storm, some decided to keep on trucking and at least four paid the price.

  • A truck driven by 29-year-old Eric Moore of North Carolina was on I-90 in Freeborn County around 7:30 pm when the rig left the roadway and rolled into a ditch. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • The driver of a truck that was on Highway 14 near Byron around 7:45 pm lost control and landed on its side in the ditch. The driver was identified as 55-year-old Eugene Pittman of Mankato who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
  • A Florida driver was injured after his truck and trailer were blown over on I-35 near Owatonna around 11:45 pm. The truck landed on the driver’s side and left 47-year-old Omar Hyde with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • High winds also blew over a truck that had stopped along Highway 12 in Kandiyohi County around 2:00 am Thursday. The driver was identified as 49-year-old Aron Quilantan of Pipestone. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. His 10-year-old son was not hurt.
