Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester startup collected the grand prize in the 2021 MN Cup entrepreneurial competition.

Nanodropper won the top $50,000 prize at the MN Cup Award Ceremony last night. The company also took home the contest's Student Division, which carried a $25,000 award.

Mayo Medical School student Alissa Song invented the Nanodropper, which is an eyedrop adapter designed to deliver significantly smaller drops of eye medications to cut waste and costs. She is the CEO of the company, which was co-founded by Elias Baker, Jennifer Steger, and Mackenzie Andrews.

According to an article posted on the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science website, the firm was previously awarded a more than $35,000 Launch Minnesota grant, a $49,000 Small Business Innovation Research Grant, and a $500,000 contract with the U.S. Air Force.
