Get Splattered at a Popular Southern Minnesota Park
Whether you want to watch some wildlife, help clean out an invasive weed, or shoot arrows at paint balloons, River Bend Nature Center in Faribault has some fun days planned.
- Splatter Paint Archery on Thursday, September 23 from 6 to 7:30 pm.
- National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 25 from 9 am to noon.
- Bagels & Birds on Saturday, October 2 from 10 to 11 am.
The archery/splatter paint program is an adult night out on Thursday, September 23. You'll learn how to shoot a bow and arrow. You'll get the chance to shoot at paint-filled balloons to create a bit of natural artwork. The program costs $10 for center members and $15 for nonmembers.
If you have buckthorn in your yard like we do, you know how nasty it can be. River Bend is hosting a morning of cutting and pulling some of those plants on Saturday, September 25. No cost on this one. But you should still call to register. And bring your own gloves, water and snack, and wear closed-two shoes.
And for a bit of a more relaxing time at River Bend, set aside Saturday, October 2 for 'bagels & birds' to watch your feathered friends through the windows on the wild. There is no cost, but please sign up.
Now might also be a good time to get signed up for River Bend's popular 'Bats, Bones and Bonfires' event on October 30, 2021. Go here to get to the sign up page.
To inquire about any of these programs and to register, please call 507-332-7151 or go to www.rbnc.org.
If you are simply looking for a great park to hike, or go on a trail run, River Bend is a wonderful option.
