I am counting my blessings this year. I tend to get reflective and nostalgic when i am looking back on the prior year, and in this case, it has been a whirlwind of a year.

The year 2016 has been a good year in many respects, my health has been good, I have a comfortable home, and some pretty great friends. I was also brought on to the staff here at KRFO Radio, so I am pretty excited about that.

This has also been a rough year, in terms of who we have lost; I am watching celebrities who were a part of my childhood pass away, reminding me of my own mortality. Carrie Fisher, David Bowie, Prince, Gene Wilder, and Debbie Reynolds, to name just a few. The world will miss them all.

I am going to make the conscious decision to focus on what is going well in my life, and take the time for friends and family. I don't normally make resolutions, I am one who breaks them within a couple weeks anyway. However, I making the decision to try something new every chance I get, and to go out looking for those new opportunities. My family has gotten involved in Curling, and it's been a blast. I will be looking for suggestions for new things to try once the Curling season is over.

From my family to yours, have a Happy New Year, and may your 2017 be every bit as wonderful as you hope!
