Report: Twins And Josh Donaldson Agree To Four-Year Deal
Reports indicate that the Minnesota Twins and former-MVP Josh Donaldson have agreed to a four-year deal.
According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, Donaldson and the Twins are in an agreement on a four-year deal that will bring Donaldson to Minnesota.
The Minnesota Twins were searching for an impact player through free agency, and all signs point to them finally landing their big fish.
Ken Rosenthal of The Atheltic reported that the deal is four-years for $92 million, and a 5th-year option that could push the deal to $100 million.
Donaldson, the 2015 AL MVP, last played with the Atlanta Braves in 2019. The 33-year-old hit .259 with 37 home runs and 94 RBI for the NL East Champion Braves. It is expected that Donaldson will take over third base for the Twins, and Miguel Sano will move to first base.
The Donaldson signing should not only bolster a lineup that already includes Nelson Cruz, Sano, Eddie Rosario, Max Kepler, and Mitch Garver, but should also shore up an infield that struggled defensively in 2019.
