Waseca Did Not Make Top 5 Small Business Finalists

How disappointing for the businesses in Waseca. We brought you the story about Waseca being named as a Top 10 Finalist for the Reality Show "Small Business Revolution." Unfortunately, the businesses of Waseca will now miss out on this half-million dollar opportunity. And, Ty Pennington will not be in the area.

There was a live watch party happening this morning at the Waseca Jr/Sr High School, at 5:30 am, put on by the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce, for those who wanted to watch it in a group. Of course, there are others who watched at home on Facebook. The results were disappointing, but, the spotlight that the show put on Waseca brought about good things, including the nation knowing where Waseca is, and what kind of businesses are there.

The top 5 small towns chosen are:

• Benicia, California
• Fredonia, New York
• Livingston, Montana
• Spearfish, South Dakota
• The Dalles, Oregon

If we can't root for Waseca to win any longer, we can certainly root for Spearfish, another mid-western town.
