Owatonna's wrestling team opened its dual meet season and home schedule with a 63-11 victory over Winona. The teams split the six matches that were wrestled and the Winhawks forfeited eight times. The match was just one of three scheduled at OHS during the regular season for the third-ranked Huskies.

Top-rated Blake West and YJ Eveillard were given forfeit victories for a 12-0 Owatonna lead, setting the stage for a top-ten showdown to start the competitive part of the night. Winona's Ryan Henningson (No. 2 ranked at 113 pounds) beat the Huskies Kanin Hable (No. 9 at 120) 15-3.

Chase Dallman and Jacob Reinardy scored second-period pins to build a 24-4 lead. Winona forfeited to Landen Johnson, Kaden Nelson, Trevor Schroeder and Matt Seykora and the Huskies led 48-4.

Trevor Pomeroy outscored Owatonna's Ethan Stockwell 14-4 at 170 pounds, followed by forfeit wins for Cade King and Quincy Price for a 60-8 advantage.

The Huskies' Nick Staska lost a 2-1 decision to Tyler Nachtigal on a penalty point for stalling. Isaiah Noeldner capped the evening with a 6-1 win for the 63-11 final.

OHS competes at the individual tournament at Chaska/Chanhassen Saturday, December 8. Owatonna goes to Mankato West for a triangular Thursday, December 13 that includes top-ten rated Northfield.
