A Twin Cities man was arrested this month for solicitation after an investigation by the Owatonna Police Department (OPD). The Just the Facts newsletter reports an Owatonna detective, "assigned to the Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force began conducting an undercover online investigation on the Whisper social media platform with an individual who believed he was conversing with a 15-year-old girl."

After an exchange of explicit pictures, "the individual contacted the officer again, planning a trip to Owatonna for sexual purposed. The detective was able to positively identify the individual and set up surveillance near (an Owatonna fast food restaurant) to intercept the male when he arrived in Owatonna."

Arrested in the case was 36-year-old Jeremiah Young of Annandale. He was charged with Attempted 3rd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and Soliciting a Child Through Electronic Communication to Engage in Sexual Conduct among other charges.

HIT AND RUN LEADS TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARREST

The OPD responded to a hit-and-run incident on Linn Drive in Owatonna that led to more allegations, "On arrival, officers learned this was a domestic violence situation and the (female) victim's vehicle had been struck purposely by the victim's significant other."

After the crash, the victim fled the vehicle but was pursued and assaulted by the suspect. Just the Facts also indicates, "the suspect admitted to purposely running into the victim's vehicle and assaulting her."

Arrested was 25-year-old Anthony Trevino of Owatonna and charged with 2nd Degree Assault and Domestic Assault.
