Owatonna Player Climbs to No. 2 on School’s All-Time Scoring List

The points keep coming for Owatonna High School senior Evan Dushek. He climbed to No. 2 on the all-time scoring list at OHS with a 26-point night at Albert Lea Friday, January 28, 2022.

Top 6 all-time scorers in Owatonna High School boys basketball history:

  • Evan Dushek 1,274 (through January 28, 2022)

  • Kyle Melcher 1,190
  • Andrew Olson 1,174
  • Chad Kolander 1,138

(Senior Brayden Williams is close to entering into this list as well.)

Huskies coach Josh Williams said on a recent AM 1390 High School Coaches Show, "Evan kind of keeps working his way up...He's been really consistent, playing great for us. I'm just happy because he's, knock on wood, been healthy this year. Some of the issues he's had to deal with really for the past year."

"So it's fun to have him just back playing. I'm sure he would attest to that, being able to be with his buddies, be on the floor and help us compete and win. I'm proud of Evan."

With 12 regular season games to go (entering into Monday, January 31) and at least one playoff game (though the chance is good for more than one), Dushek would have to average about 22 points per game to catch Lundberg.

Dushek was the team Most Valuable Player as a sophomore in the 2019-2020 season. He reached 1,000 career points during his junior season. He made All-Big Nine each of the last two seasons.
