Owatonna Post 77 scored its second straight come-from-behind win, beating the Rochester Redhawks 11-4 by scoring the final eight runs of the game.

After Rochester grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Owatonna responded with three in the home half. The Hawks answered with a three-run homer in the second inning for a 4-3 lead, but those were their final runs of the game. Kodey Keil rebounded from giving up the home run to pitch six innings. Alec Holcomb threw the seventh.

Post 77 took the lead with a two-run third inning and scored in every inning afterward to win 11-4 and improve to 10-6 overall this summer and 7-2 in the district. Abe Havelka homered for Owatonna and Brady Schuster stung the ball all night.

Thursday's win secures a first-round bye for Owatonna, who will host the sub-state tournament next week. It's the second straight comeback win for Post 77, who recovered from several one-run deficits against Faribault on Tuesday.

Owatonna closes the regular season with the Rochester Eagles at 12PM Saturday at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park. Post 77 should play their first playoff game Tuesday.

Area teams are at Dodge Center for playoffs this weekend. Friday, Lake City faces Stewartville at 5:30PM followed by top-seed Dodge Center against Hayfield in elimination games. Medford squares off with Adam on Saturday morning in the winner's bracket final.

VFW Post 3723 baseball is in a busy time. They played a doubleheader at Rochester Thursday. Owatonna is at Faribault on Friday night at 7PM. Monday they go to Stewartville for a 7PM start. Owatonna hosts Farmington on Tuesday.

The Owatonna Aces amateur team is at Waseca on Friday at 7:30PM. Saturday the Aces go to Pine Island for a 2PM start and Sunday they face Dodge County at Hayfield at 2PM. Wednesday, July 19, Owatonna hosts the Rochester Roadrunners at 7:30PM at Fuller Field on KRFO AM 1390.
