Allina Health announces that there will be visitor restrictions implemented starting Tuesday, January 2. This restriction will include the District One Hospital in Faribault and Owatonna Hospital. The restrictions are being implemented for the safety of patients and staff due to influenza.

Starting Tuesday, child under the age of 5 are asked not to visit patients.

Visitors to the Mom Baby/Birth Center units may be screened for wellness and children under 5 will be screened as well.

Visitors who are sick are being asked to refrain from visiting hospital patients

Anyone with a cough or sore throat will be asked to wear a mask when inside the hospital.

Compassionate exceptions may be considered based on a patient's critical condition and or prognosis.

These restrictions include other Allina hospitals include Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis.

Feel free to call ahead to other hospitals to see if visitor restrictions are in place due to the flu.
