It's the 55th annual Owatonna Eagles Cancer Auction this weekend. The fun begins at 6PM Friday, February 3, and continues Saturday, February 4, at 4PM.

Last year's two-day auction raised more than $41,000, with a final total of $44,083 being donated during this past January's Eagle Cancer Telethon. There's free admission with cash, check and credit card payments being accepted.

Items up for bids this year include goodies from Wengers, Cybex, Powerblock and more. They also will auction off 14 cases of Lagunitas beer. This is a craft beer out of California. There are also craft beers from Schells and Sierra Nevada. Wine baskets, gift baskets and Valentine's baskets.

Once again the volunteer auctioneers will be Dennis Jensen, Vern Wilker, Brandon Nelson and Jeff Kath.

Food and drink will be available. There's a Sloppy Joe special for $6 with all $6 going toward the cancer auction.

All the money stays in Minnesota for cancer research, going to the University of Minnesota, Hormel Institute and Mayo. Of the money raised last year during the Rochester-area portion of the fundraiser, 90.4 percent of it went to grants in the fight against cancer.
