Owatonna girls lacrosse, softball, girls track and baseball were the featured interviews on the KRFO High School coaches show Saturday, May 4. Listen back to those Owatonna coaches right here!

OHS girls lacrosse grabbed hold of sole possession of the Big Nine Conference lead with a 5-4 win over John Marshall on Monday, April 29 at the Owatonna field. It was a come-from-behind win that included a no-goal call on a shot that looked to enter the goal. Coach Dan Paur said the team did a nice job of not letting that play sidetrack their game plan.

Paur says the team is running a more patient offense this season after being more of a transition team a season ago. The Huskies are the defending conference champs.

OHS baseball lost to Rochester Century at Mayo Field Thursday 6-0, dropping the defending Big Nine champ Huskies to 2-3 in conference-counting games. Coach Tate Cummins also discussed the team's trip to St. Cloud which included a rain-out on Friday.

On Saturday, the baseball team dropped a 9-8 decision to Duluth East and fell against Apollo 11-4.

As the track season counts down to the Big Nine meet which will be hosted by the Huskies, girls coach Ann Christensen says the team has outscored all their conference opponents so far.

Huskies softball coach Jeremy Moran recapped a busy, long night of action from Thursday, May 2. After an extra-inning junior varsity game on parents' night, the varsity topped Century 10-4.

At Saturday's Shakopee Tournament the Huskies went 0-3, but had a pair of very close games. They lost 7-4 to Hastings, got beat by highly-ranked Winona 7-5 and lost to North Branch 12-3.

The high school coaches show each Saturday morning on KRFO and the KRFO app features coaches from Owatonna, Blooming Prairie, NRHEG, Medford and Triton. It airs at 9 am.
