On the morning of Tuesday, September 29th, Owatonna law enforcement responded to a call on the 2700 block of 26th Street NW after receiving a report of a person hit with a black baton.

The responding officers learned that the residence they were responding to is a multi-resident housing building with individually rented rooms.  It was determined that a dispute took place over a dog that was barking in the building and disturbing another resident.

An exchange of words took place between the dog's owner and an adult female resident, after the exchange, the adult female kicked in the door of the victim that had complained of the barking dog. With the door being kicked open, a juvenile entered the apartment and assaulted the victim.

Owatonna Police observed that the victim’s door frame had been damaged and the victim had a split lower lip.  The adult female and juvenile were arrested at the scene.  The adult female was identified as 43-year-old Charlena Crawford of Owatonna, and she has been charged with 1st Degree Burglary.  The juvenile is facing similar charges.
